CONTINUOUS AND PROCEDURAL ASSESSMENT TO MEASURE PERFORMANCE FROM DIFFERENT OPTICIANS

Assessment is a fundamental part of our teaching and learning process, being essential to guide students and teachers on the path of knowledge and teaching approaches.

The assessment is carried out daily and takes into account several elements in every school subject, such as:

  • Individual and group activities performance;
  • Verbal and body expression;
  • Understanding of content;
  • Behavior development;
  • Mastery of socio-emotional skills;
  • Other.

As an integral part of teaching, assessment also takes place in informal situations, which allows for a broader and deeper view of every student learning process.

The evaluation process of Elementary School I is divided into two stages. The first relies on students’ self-assessment, which helps them to recognize possible difficulties and progress in the learning process, as well as planning of future steps with the help of the class teacher.

The second step is the active participation of parents, who report to the school on a quarterly basis on their perceptions and future expectations regarding their children’s learning. This step enables a closer partnership between family and school in the education of their children.

With information collected throughout the quarter, it is possible to analyze the learning development of each student, and customize a personalized plan according to each child’s progress, respecting their individuality.

We share with parents a detailed report with the criteria for personalized assessment of students, and we hold an individual meeting with every family, in which the student’s performance in the evaluated period is discussed, as well as the goals set for the following quarter.

In addition to the procedural assessment, from Year 2 onwards, we also complement the assessment with monthly tests.
